The calendar of the 4th Global Conference of the One Planet’s Network’s Sustainable Food Systems Programme is enriched by a side event organised by the SFS-MED Platform to showcase the food systems transformation processes and pathways in the Mediterranean area!

Speakers and participants, coming both from the European and African sides of the Mediterranean sea, aim to foster the knowledge sharing, leverage cross-country and multi-stakeholder collaboration on sustainable food systems in the area, and mobilize resources to further consolidate the SFS-MED Platform’s collaborative effort. From this side event, the organisers expecto to consolidate the colalboration among actors of the the Mediterranean area, spreading the concepts of blue, green and circular economy, fostering research and innovation, and leveraging the Mediterranean diet to bring about more sustainable consumption and production patterns.

The SFS-MEDPlatform is a multi-stakeholder initiative for Sustainable Food Systems in the Mediterranean co-led by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM), the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), and the Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA), as an affiliated project of the One Planet Network’s Sustainable Food Systems Programme.
